Hello everyone:

I hope you are well. Today I would like talk about History of art in the western culture. Maybe my timeline will be arbitrary.  I begin the timeline with:

Cave painting   

Ancient Greek art              

Roman Empire                

Medieval art

Renaissance                   

Baroque             

Rococo           

Neoclassicism               

Romanticism            

Impressionism and the Modern art.

First the cave painting s dates back to the Paleolithic times. These paintings on walls and ceilings to cover several themes, for example: wild animals and tracings of human. The most famous cave paintings are: Lascaux in France or Spanish cave of bulls, for to name a few.

Next, in the Classical period we know the Ancient Greek art. This art have influence in many cultures over the world. In the areas of sculpture and Architecture the Greek art is important for the Renaissance in Europe. In the same period, the Roman Empire the major forms are: architecture, painting, sculpture and mosaic work. In my opinion, the most important form of Roman art is architecture. It was in this area Roman art produced its greatest innovations.

The Medieval art in Europe has a lot influence of the Roman Empire and the iconographic traditions of the early Christian. This art is religious and over 1000 years of history in Europe.

In the Renaissance the art change his form. The mathematics and science were important in this time. The great invention of the Renaissance is: perspective. Later in the Baroque is a period when the style used exaggerated motion. The genre paintings in the Baroque are assorted, for example: landscape paintings, still life, and portrait and in Spain and Italy religious scene.

The Neoclassicism to inherit the Renaissance structure and this form is famous for simplicity. The artistic production of Neoclassicism has got the classical canon and the subject was inspired on martial courage of the Greek and Latin epics. The architecture by used for Republic ideas.

In this period called Romantic era was a great artistic. Thos most important thing is the feeling about nature. This period was subjective in the arts.

For finish, the Impressionism was a nineteen century art movement. The first movement in the History of art because with the Impressionism began the modern art. This is the most important thing about Impressionism.

Hello everyone:

I hope you are Ok. Well today I would like talk about my favorite piece of music.  This piece called: "La valse d'Amélie" de Yann Tiersen. In my opinion this composer is amazing because he is a creative of music. So, Yann Tiersen is a young men. It is a French musician, who has given the world his music since the mid nineties. He studied in several conservatories, where he practicing the violin, piano and later composition.Yann not only has a very good technique in these three areas but also plays many instruments with who creates his music. I like his music because I think that is personal and unique.

I discovered his music when I saw the film: Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain. The interesting thing about the case is that I prefer the sound track.  Anyway, this is a great film, so great sounds track. Yann Tiersen made all the pieces of this film. However, from my point of view the most beautiful piece of music is "La valse d'Amélie". This composition is only instrumental music and the instrument is piano. I love it!

I like this piece because I enjoy instrumental music and I love the piano. I know that exist many instrument of classic music and they are wonderful but the piano is unique about presence musical because I believe it is most powerful.

     

This piece of music is delicate and melancholic. I think that piece is about feelings and I can to feel many things when I hear it. All depend how I feel when I hear it. So, I don´t know what it is about this piece of music and I don´t interested too. Because the most significant for me is how I feel when I hear it.

Merry Christmas!

Hello everyone:

I hope you are well. Today I would like speak about my Christmas. Well I think the Christmas is a special celebration because the people shared with their family and friends. Also, in my opinion the Christmas present is a nice tradition. And the most important thing: the Christmas tree because is a symbol of Christmas for the people.  So, I think the colors, lights and all the Christmas decorations are fine and create a warm atmosphere.

In my last Christmas I went to my grandmother´s house with my sister and mum.  So, in her house were my family but not all, only my grandparents and my uncles. However, I can say spent with my family.  

My grandmother coked very well, her food was tasty. She coked a lot food: meat, vegetables and many sauces but my prefer sauce is champignon with white cream. I love it!  I eaten much and I drank wine – a lot-. Is a joke, I drank wine for accompany my food. Later we talk about many things and in the midnight we opened our Christmas present and shared it.

However, past the midnight I feel very tired so I went to sleep early. It was a nice and peaceful Christmas.

Human Language

The language has evolved with the time, in my opinon.  About words of Pagel, I think that learning social is a great ability own each person. So, in the past this ability was important for the human evolucion and social organization. Even, the language can make possible the cooperation between groups. Only the homo sapiens sapiens have the faculty of the language!

The origin of languages is result of the need. The comunication is useful for the cooperation between persons: in the past, present and the future. I believe that is possible one language for the world today because the globalization has grown a lot. Today the world is a concept of comunication because exist internet.

The idea about only one language is fine when the people needs comunicate but I think that is important for each culture preserve the language.
I believe that each language is important because the language possess the view of the world of the people. So each culture speak their language.

I like the spanish, It is a nice language. My Chilean identity is through the languaje because I think that the language is the most important factor about the culture.
Many persons in the world speak spanish but is difficult learn it. The Chilean people is a mixing: race, language etc. Is our history.

Learning English

Hello everyone:

I hope you are well. This week I know a new site on Internet for learn English, this site is: www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/learningenglish/. You must have a look. Well, my opinion about the site is good.  I think the page is fine because you can do many things. I enjoy it!

I started in the section: Grammar, Vocabulary and Pronunciation but I don’t really like it. You must search because there are many activities in the site.

I did try with others activities and I searched for something more entertaining. Then, I choice: Quiznet. This exercise is about different topics and you can choose anyone. So, I decided  for the topic about Canada.

And Wordmaster, It is about vocabulary. The game is an interactive program and you must write the correct word. Also you can enjoy practices and learn many words in different phrases.  So, my final score was: 59291. I feel very happy for my score. I do well.

Less time...

Hello everyone:

I hope you are well. I would like to write about my opinions and tell us my point of view on the current situation.

Well, I think that new term is hard to explain because this semester is very strange for me. Is the first time in my life that  I must study in holidays. It is new experience.
This year was difficult and exhausting for the students. The many strikes and discussion about education. Unfortunately the student demands was not hear for the government. It is a shame.

I think that is complicated make class in short time. But I believe the class of this semester will work.  Well,  I believe will be fine if we collaborate (students and teachers). We can learn a lot in less time. And the most important for us is study.

Studying over Christmas, New Year and in summer is terrible because I like enjoy the celebrations and I think in this situation is impossible to have fun. All the day I will saying: “I must study”. However, I can`t do anything about the subject. I only accept the reality. I hope learn more everyday and work in my projects.

Against deforestation!

Hello everyone:

Today I`ll talk about a topic, which I find interesting and this is deforestation in the world, particulary in South America.

The Amazon rainforest is the world's largest tropical rainforest. Even, more than 60 percent it belongs to Brazil.

Deforestation in the Brazilian Amazon is typically driven by industrial agriculture and land speculation. More than 70 percent of deforested land ends up as cattle pasture. High commodity prices typically create incentives for deforestation.

Brazilian farmers have been demanding enviromentalist laws in the Amazon region. So, in this way  they support a bill that would let them clear half the land on their properties in environmentally sensitive areas.

Some environmental experts warned that simple economics were driving to the deforestation rates, and that as the global economy recovers from financial crisis, the rates would rise of deforestation again.

Against deforestation...

A Brazilian priest, frustated by the plight of deforestation that plagues his city: Piresdo, he decided to impose a new style in the confessional. So which is?  a environmental penance, this idea consist in to plant trees and change the current situation for Brazil.

What?  Basically what the priest proclaims is that if you wants to earn forgiveness and get in good with the above, something must be done also for the planet. And the better way to do something for the planet is help to reforest the city in which they live.

However, probably  the orthodox Catholic is disagree with this practice. But no doubt that initiatives like this give a imagen more human and close the church to the people in this century.

In addition, scheduled for Octuber has a reforestation of one of the most affected areas of the city, where probably the priest`s blessing. So the best thing is that everybody can help the planet.
